Box 1810 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> REVIEW OF FIRST 2007 GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER MONITORING <br /> REPORT FOR HARNEY LANE SANITARY LANDFILL, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Water Board) staff has reviewed the 1St <br /> Quarter 2007 Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Report for the Harney Lane <br /> Sanitary Landfill, San Joaquin County. The report was prepared in accordance with <br /> Monitoring and Reporting Program No. 96-139. The report is complete, however, continued <br /> VOC detects in well MW-2 is a violation of the landfills Waste Discharge Requirements. The <br /> Discharger has proposed to enhance corrective action in the vicinity of well MW-2 by installing <br /> two additional landfill gas extraction wells. Staff agrees with this proposed enhancement. <br /> Staff also requests the Discharger conduct appropriate activities to resolve the turbidity issue <br /> in wells MW-2 and MW-3. <br /> Also, as a 2ND reminder, an updated Report of Waste Discharge (RWD) is to be submitted to <br /> the Regional Water Board so that staff may update the Waste Discharge Requirements. Staff <br /> requests the RWD be submitted by 29 June 2007. <br /> Please review the monitoring and reporting checklist for additional comments.
