We have also sent this by email to facilitate
transmission elsewhere, at your discretion.
Information from our consultant, SCS Field Services, indicates that uneven settlement along the
landfill supporting the northwest portion of the landfill gas header has reduced collection of LFG
from that area, thus allowing migration at that one area. SCS believes that they have localized
the problem to a 200-foot length of header, and we have directed them to proceed immediately
with further investigation (if needed) and repair as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we have asked SCS to monitor the foundation vents of the migrant housing
structures weekly to ensure the safety of the occupants. Weekly monitoring will continue until
the concentration of combustible gas at our monitoring wells is restored to below regulatory
limits. Note that combustible gas has not been detected in these vents
If you have any questions, please contact me at extension 8-3066.
Sincerely,
W.
