pond located at the south end of the site. Near the southeast corner of the.site, a small culvert under
the road allows accumulated rainfall to drain from the property to the east into the drainage ditch and
on to the retention pond.
The run-off/run-on facilities were not breeched the past quarter. The facilities will continue to be
monitored.
ANNUAL SUMMARY
Groundwater
MW-1 (Up-gradient): There is a statistically significant increasing trend in EC. As stated in
previous reports, beginning with the fourth quarter 2004, the cause of the trend is believed to be
other than the landfill since the well is up-gradient.
An increasing trend in Total Dissolved Solids was reported for all quarters of 2006.
No VOCs were reported in MW-1 in 2006.
MW-2 (Impacted): A statistically significant increasing trend continues for Chloride for all four
quarters of 2006.
A statistically significant increasing trend in Turbidity was reported for the second, third, and fourth
quarters of 2006.
A statistically significant increasing trend in pH was reported for the second, third, and fourth
quarters of 2005. However, pH appeared to be normal with no increasing trend observed in any
quarter of 2006.
During 2006,three VOCs were reported in the first, third, and fourth quarters, four were reported in
the second quarter, that were not "false positives".
MW-3: A statistically significant increasing trend in Chloride was reported for all quarters of 2006.
Since this well is down-gradient of MW-1, and the Chloride levels in MW-1 were higher than
normal for the last several quarters, it is expected that Chloride levels will fluctuate over time due to
natural variation in groundwater.
A significantly increasing trend in Turbidity was reported for all quarters of 2006.
No VOCs were reported in MW-3 in 2006.
MW-4:
Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill De c Works/Solid Waste
4'" p b Department of Public
Quarter and Annual 2006 Groundwater Monitoring Report County of San Joaquin-January 15,2007
7
