/1 0
August 3, 1995
Chandler. Martin
San Joaquin County Planning
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205-6232
RE: Use Permit UP -95-8
Dear Mr. Chandler:
0
WEAVER INDI[5?RIES9INC.
In regards to our application for a use permit at 2801 Louise Avenue, Manteca, I
have prepared the following information for your evaluation.
First, concerning the volumes of materials to be handed, I anticipate an annual
inbound tonnage of 150,000 and outbound via. railroad will be up to 50% of total and
the balance by roadway.
The Vermicompost project will entail the processing of greenwaste (inside of
building) then windrowing in the designated outside area for curing and application of
worms. The windrow are small in size and periodically turned and watered to stabilize
before introducing theworms. This may take anywhere from 15-60 days depending
on several conditions such as weather, amount of water added, and turning times.
After the worms are complete with their digestion of the product, the material is
harvested and screened in a continual process ready for market either in bulk or bag
form. Bagging if optioned will be conducted indoors. The harvesting is basically a
small down -the -row type machine which is merely a sophisticated loading process.
Pictures will be provide at the hearing.
There was a concern over building "G". I would like to seek a one year option to
restore or demolish. Likewise the septic system is questionable as to its use. I
propose to provide a mobile office with restroom facilities and additional portable
toilets for an interim period in the even the existing system does not function.
