OPERATIONAL STATEMENT
For A
Wood And Greenwaste Processing Facility
Proposed At
2801 E. Louise Avenue. Manteca
I BACKGROUND
Weaver Industries, Inc. (Weaver's)has its base of operations located in Fresno.
The company employs between 120-130 full-time people who perform services in the
tree and wood recycling industry. These services include tree care, transplanting and
related nursery operations, orchard removal, land clearing and even light demolition.
These services have prompted Weaver's to permit and operate eight wood and
greenwaste processing facilities in Central California. These facilities handle raw
recyclables by various processing methods into usable by-products with markets such
as, Bio-mass fuel, mulch , animal bedding, and soil amendments for landscape and
agricultural.
Our efforts in these forms of service lend to cleaner air quality by eliminating open
field burning and also by diverting thousands of tons of materials which would have
gone into landfills.
11 USE OF SITE
Weaver's propose to engage in a multi-purpose use for this project. We intend for
the most part to process wood materials inside the buildings. Processing will involve
sorting, grinding, screening, conveying and storage of products.
The result of these processes are wood chips, mulch, landscape products, soil
amendments, and other related by-products. Secondary processes such as
vermiculture on finished products and a bagging operation will eventually be
incorporated into the program.
The equipment utilized will be wheel loaders, tub grinders, chippers, and screening
plants to clean and classify products, Additionally forklifts, trucks, and possibly some
track type equipment may be used to improve operations.
Weaver's will also need to use the outside areas of the property for bulk storage of
wood and greenwaste products. There are large areas of concrete which will be ideal
for storage.
