Lubricating Specialties Compaq <br />MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET <br />Dear Customer, <br />You are probably aware of recent developments regarding worker "Right -to -Know" <br />laws and the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. While these laws and the OSHA <br />Standard have numerous requirements, the development. of a, Material Safety Data <br />Sheet and its disseminatioh to the purchaser of the chemical product are among the <br />principal means of achieving an effective hazard communication program and of satisf- <br />ying the "Right -to -Know" need. For the MSDS to serve its purpose as an effective means <br />of hazard communication, the information contained therein must be passed along to <br />all those who handle or use the product and/or are involved with the design, implemen- <br />tation of control of operations involving the product: We strongly Urge you to forward <br />the MSDS to all parties who have a heed for the information contained therein. <br />"EMPTY" CONTAINER WARNING <br />"Empty" containers retain residue (liquid and/or vapor) and can be dangerous: DO NOT <br />PRESSURIZE, CUT, WELD, BRAZE, SOLDER, DRILL, GRIND OR EXPOSE SUCH <br />CONTAINERS TO HEAT, FLAME, SPARKS OR OTHER SOURCES OF IGNITION; <br />THEY MAY EXPLODE AND CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. All precautions detailed on <br />the container label applies to partially full or "Empty" cohtainers. Do not attempt to <br />clean since residue is difficult to remove. "Empty" drums should be completely drained, <br />properly closed and promptly returned to a drum reconditioner to be commercially <br />cleaned. All other containers should be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner <br />and in accordance with governmental regulations. For work on tanks refer to Occupa- <br />tional Safety and Health Administration regtilatibns, ANSI Z49.1, and other governmen- <br />tal and industrial references pertaining to cleaning, repairing, welding, or other con- <br />templated operations. <br />When a Lubricating Specialties Company product is resold in the original container <br />with an origirfal label, the reseller has the responsibility for ensuring that the proper <br />Material Safety Data Sheet is provided to its purchaser. <br />Although the information and recommendations set forth herein (hereinafter "Informa- <br />tion") are presenter', in good faith and believed to be correct as of the date hereof, <br />Lubricating Specialties Company makes no representations as to the completeness or <br />accuracy thereof.
