Violations and "areas of
concern" identified in previous LEA monthly inspections had been corrected by the time of
this inspection. Although the 12/16/91 SWFP allows for the storage of salvaged material on
adjacent property (.83 acres), I observed all station operations to be conducted on the
original acreage (.98 acres). The storage of salvaged materials in processing areas leads
to cramped quarters and allows "no room for error" with regard to employee/public safety.
Although a great amount of activity and processes occur on this limited acreage, I observed
that station supervisors coordinated and orchestrated activities in such a way as to provide
for employee/public safety and to allow equipment and vehicles ready access to all operating
areas of the station.
Waste Management Spec!
