C. SITE PLAN DESCRIPTION
Drawing RSI-1 is a Site Area Map that shows parcels of land comprising the Station
property and also surrounding parcels. The map is based on maps obtained from the
County. The structures and improvements proposed for the Station renovation Project are
shown, as well as existing structures and utilities within 1000 feet of the expansion property.
It should be noted that the existing permitted area of the station is approximately 5 acres
as shown on Drawing RSI-1. The total expanded area for the Station, as shown, is
approximately 15 acres.
Land uses for the parcels including the Station property and surrounding parcels are also
shown on Drawing RSI-1. The land uses indicated are based on a County Department of
Public Works, Solid Waste Division (CSWD) map contained in the December 1990 RSI for
the Station. The uses indicated at that time have not changed to the present. General land
use zoning for the area is AG-40, General Agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40
acres. However, non-conforming smaller parcels may and do exist within the area.
Drawing RSI-2 is a Site Plan which shows the proposed Station expansion Project in more
detail. This Site Plan is the basis for other drawings and shows components of the proposed
Station which are described throughout this RSI.
j
It should be noted that the traffic, waste stream and maJor areas of the Transfer Building
for the Station will frequently be referred to as "Non-Automated Disposal" and "Automated
Disposal". These characterizations are based on how the vehicles that will be disposing of
waste at the Station unload (or dispose) of their waste. The "Non-Automated Disposal"
vehicles are those which cannot automatically mechanically dump or unload waste on the
tipping floor. Typically these vehicles must be unloaded by manually moving the waste, and
therefore the person delivering the load manually handles the waste (pickup trucks or autos
for example). Conversely, the "Automated Disposal" vehicles are equipped with a
mechanism that can be actuated by the vehicle driver to tip or unload the waste (packer
trucks or dump trucks for example). The reason that this distinction used is because the
County will separately process the Station traffic according to this distinction.
A summary of key components for the proposed Station expansion is shown in the Table
below.
07549001.012 4 September 23,1993
