D. COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT <br /> The specific components of the project are listed below. (Refer to Figure 3-2: Preliminary <br /> Site Plan). <br /> • Transfer Building <br /> Public Disposal Area <br /> Commercial Disposal Area <br /> Tipping/Sorting Floor <br /> - Transfer Tunnel <br /> • Recycling Area <br /> • Recycling Drop-Off <br /> • Hazardous Waste Storage <br /> • Scale House <br /> • Scales <br /> • Office/Maintenance Building <br /> • Employee/Visitor Parking <br /> • Transfer Trailer Parking <br /> • Fuel Station <br /> • Roadways <br /> • Retention Pond <br /> • Utilities <br /> • Fencing <br /> • Landscaping <br /> D. PROPOSED FACILITIES <br /> 1. Transfer Building <br /> The Transfer Building will be a single large structure of steel frame construction <br /> with metal siding and reinforced concrete foundations, covering an area of <br /> approximately 120,000 square feet, and rising about 50 feet above the <br /> Tipping/Sorting Floor at its highest point. <br /> All exterior rollup doorways will be approximately 15 feet high. Direct access to <br /> the Tipping/Sorting Floor from the exterior will be provided through the west <br /> side at the south end of the floor. <br /> Lighting will be primarily natural light provided through translucent fiberglass <br /> roof and wall panels. Artificial lighting will also be provided. Natural and <br /> mechanical ventilation will be provided through a roof vent running the entire <br /> length of the ridge line of the building. The interior of the Transfer Building will <br /> be provided with fire sprinklers. <br /> The Transfer Building encompasses four different areas: The Public Disposal <br /> Area on the east side, at an elevation four feet above the Tipping/Sorting Floor; <br /> the Commercial Disposal Area on the west side, at an elevation eight feet above <br /> the Tipping/Sorting Floor; the Tipping/Sorting Floor in the central area of the <br /> building; and the Transfer TunnJ on the north side, at an elevation fifteen feet <br /> below the Tipping/Sorting Floor. <br /> A loading slot located on the north end of the Tipping/Sorting Floor above thehe <br /> Transfer Tunnel will be provided to transfer twaste by gravity into the <br /> transfer trailers. <br /> 3-3 <br />
