1" 9 0
Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
From:
Jaime Perez Operez@sjgov.org]
Sent:
Friday, May 18, 2007 1:24 PM
To:
Robert McClellon [EH]
Cc:
Desi Reno; Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]; Marcus Davenport
Subject: REQUESTED WASTE QUANTITY DATA
Attachments: LMRFTS Tons Dec 16 - 31 2006.xls
Good Afternoon Robert,
The attached spreadsheet contains the data Natalia requested of the waste quantities received
the last two weeks of December 2006 at the Lovelace and North County waste disposals
facilities.
Based on the data, we basically have about 250 tons of daily permitted tons available to
absorb the Lovelace self -haul waste. However, to date during 2007 our waste quantities have
been lower at both Lovelace and North County in comparison with 2006 (i.e. 6.5% at NC and
6% at Lovelace). In addition, we anticipate that 20% - 30% of the self haul customers will hold
on to their waste until Lovelace reopens. Coupled with the advertisement we plan to do and
the availability of the Foothill Landfill, the Forward Landfill, the Central Valley Waste Transfer
Station in Lodi, and the Tracy MRF&TS, the closure of Lovelace during the last two weeks of
this year, should have a minimal impact on the overall waste disposal system.
Ideally, if the new permit for the North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill is issued
prior to Lovelace closing, we'd be able to handle most of the Lovelace waste stream.
Therefore, on our end we're doing everything possible to achieve that and if there is anything
your agency can do to help expedite the issuance of the new permit, it would be helpful.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you.
Jaime L.
