When identified, these materials are removed and placed in the appropriate container (oil is drained into 5 gallon buckets, capacitors placed in storage bins or boxes, mercury switches and probes in a 30 gallon drum, PCB containing items in 5 gallon bucket, Freon in recovery cylinders). Each date that appliances are recycled, Onsite completes a DTSC form 1430, submitting it to the County, as well as an appliance log documenting the materials removed. Onsite documents the generation of universal and hazardous wastes removed and collected. All operations will be conducted in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Estimated Volumes: 550 — 700 appliances per month Materials Requiring Special Handling Onsite handles and manage all materials requiring special handling in compliance with all Federal and State Regulations. The following describes the handling and disposition of these materials: Mercury switches Packaging: 5 gallon buckets with screw top lids Labeling: Universal Waste Mercury Devices Management: Mercury switches are sent to Mercury Waste Solutions, Inc. for mercury retort services. Certificates of recycling are acquired from Mercury Waste Solutions and are available upon request. Refrigerant and Compressor Oils Packaging: 30 or 55 gallon steel drum Labeling: Used Oil Management: Refrigerant oil will be stored at Onsite's Stockton Facility, and be picked up by Safety Kleen Services. Used. Refrigerants Packaging: Recovery Cylinders Labeling: Used Refrigerant Management: Used refrigerants are stored in recovery cylinders. When full, these cylinders are emptied by Rapid Recovery for recycling of the refrigerants.
