C <br />Socket set <br />Nut driver set <br />Crescent wrench <br />APPENDIX I <br />Onsite inspects each major appliance for materials that require special handling. When <br />identified, these materials are removed and placed in the appropriate container (oil is <br />drained into 5 gallon buckets, capacitors placed in storage bins or boxes, mercury <br />switches and probes in a 30 gallon drum, PCB containing items in 5 gallon bucket, Freon <br />in recovery cylinders). Each date that appliances are recycled, Onsite completes a DTSC <br />form 1430, submitting it to the County, as well as an appliance log documenting the <br />materials removed. Onsite documents the generation of universal and hazardous wastes <br />removed and collected. <br />All operations will be conducted in accordance with State and Federal regulations. <br />Estimated Volumes: 550 — 700 appliances per month <br />Materials Requiring Special Handling <br />Onsite handles and manage all materials requiring special handling in compliance with all <br />Federal and State Regulations. The following describes the handling and disposition of <br />these materials: <br />Mercury switches <br />Packaging: 5 gallon buckets with screw top lids <br />Labeling: Universal Waste Mercury Devices <br />Management: Mercury switches are sent to Mercury Waste Solutions, Inc. for <br />mercury retort services. Certificates of recycling are acquired from <br />Mercury Waste Solutions and are available upon request. <br />Refrigerant and Compressor Oils <br />Packaging: 30 or 55 gallon steel drum <br />Labeling: Used Oil <br />Management: Refrigerant oil will be stored at Onsite's Stockton Facility, and be <br />picked up by Safety Kleen Services. <br />Used. Refrigerants <br />Packaging: Recovery Cylinders <br />Labeling: Used Refrigerant <br />Management: Used refrigerants are stored in recovery cylinders. When full, <br />these cylinders are emptied by Rapid Recovery for recycling of the <br />refrigerants. <br />PCB Capacitors <br />Packaging: 5 gallon bucket with screw top lids <br />Labeling: Waste Polychlorinated Bi -Phenyls <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />
