Upon being given a <br />description of the materials and situation, the Environment Health Department will provide <br />direction for removal of the waste in question and proceeds to <br />the site if necessary and pfevides diFeetion for efnefgeney removal of the waste in question. The <br />foreman also notifies the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services concerning the <br />incident if appropriate. The foreman then arranges for immediate removal and 'disposal <br />by the County's licensed hazardous waste contractor as neededA;—f-,L 1— the ERN,ifonffient <br />ldealth Deparv►ent. <br />Experience with the load checking program to date indicates that virtually all attempts to dispose <br />of hazardous waste at the site involve disposal of drums containing varying amounts of liquid. <br />Under the waste exclusion program, liquid containers greater than five gallons in capacity which <br />may be safely moved are removed away in the dumping area and stored until disposed al -is <br />aeeemplished by the responsible party or the County. Alith the use of the ehefflieal S'OffiRe <br />leekef at the -,R, -Such containers4mrrels will be appropriately tagged when discovered with <br />information as to approximate volume of contents, probable contents of known, <br />date of discovery and responsible party if known. The barrel is;-afid then leekec lap ced in the <br />storage locker until removed from the site and a licensed hazardous waste hauler. <br />The County has developed a tefm agreementcontract with a licensed hazardous waste hauler for <br />clean up and removal and disposal of discovered hazardous waste. Under this agreement, the <br />~tfaetea hatilefcontractor loads the materials at the Lovelace Materrials R,,,.,,. efy Facility a <br />Transfer Station, performs any necessary cleanup, prepares the manifest and transports the waste <br />to a hazardous waste site for u4iHAe-disposal at an appropriately -licensed facility.
