IN RODUCTION <br /> The Tracy Materials Recovery and Transfer Facility will have the capacity to remove recyclables <br /> from up to a peak of 1000 tons per day of incoming refuse. <br /> Due to the growing problem of the illegal dumping of hazardous waste at landfills and transfer <br /> stations, hazardous waste screening programs are now required by the California Waste <br /> Management Board Facilities Permit and the Regional Water Quality Control Board Waste <br /> Discharge Requirements. <br /> The California Waste Management Board requires that a hazardous waste screening program be <br /> described in the Report of Station Information (RSI). The screening programs should consist <br /> of the following activities. <br /> • Inspection of random incoming loads <br /> • Regular visual inspection of the was deposited at the facility <br /> • Training of facility personnel in hazardous waste recognition and proper hazardous waste <br /> handling procedures <br /> • Reporting incidents of unlawful disposal to specific agencies <br /> • Installation of signs at the facility entryway indicating that no hazardous wastes are <br /> accepted <br /> Plans for implementing these requirements at the Tracy Materials Recovery and Transfer Facility <br /> are as follows: <br /> is .W C-1 <br />
