Transfer, Inc. vehicle maintenance and operations facilities are included as part of this project. <br /> B. SIM LOCATION <br /> The station site is located about 4 miles south of the City of Tracy in the unincorporated area <br /> of San Joaquin County. The site, identified as APN 253-130-19, is within the northeast quarter <br /> of Section 16, Township 3 South, Range 5 East, M.D.B.M., is approximately 39.2 acres in size <br /> and is located on the west side of MacArthur Drive south of Linne Road (see Figure I in <br /> Appendix A). Access to the site is via MacArthur Drive. The majority of the site consists of <br /> a large pit, approximately 30 to 40 feet deep, that was previously used for gravel mining <br /> operations. The site address is 30703 South MacArthur Drive, Tracy, CA. The gravel pit <br /> presently contains no structures or trees, and is comprised exclusively of exposed silty sand to <br /> silty gravel and naturally occurring grassland vegetation. Primary routes of delivery to the site <br /> include: MacArthur Drive, Linne Road, Corral Hollow Road, and Tracy Boulevard. Regional <br /> access to the station is provided by Highways 5 and 580. <br /> On site circulation is provided via two-way roadways designed to minimize conflicts and <br /> facilitate safe and efficient circulation of the refuse hauling and transfer vehicles. <br /> C. SITE PLAN DESCREPTION <br /> The purpose of this section is to describe the functional areas of the facility. The general site <br /> location is shown in Figure 2. Proposed site layout is shown on Figure 3, Preliminary Site Plan, <br /> which indicates the planned buildings, roads, maintenance and storage areas. The facility is <br /> planned to consist of the following activities /or functional areas: <br /> Sorting of non-hazardous solid waste and/pr collected Lecyclables: containers and papers <br /> obtained from a curbside collection program in the City of Tracy will be received at the facility <br /> and processed. In addition selected loads of solid waste may be sorted for separation of <br /> recyclables. <br /> Transfer area for the transport of the residual waste to landfill• residential and commercial non- <br /> processable wastes will be received at the facility, unloaded onto the tipping floor, any <br /> recyclables or materials which should not be landfilled will be sorted out on the floor, and the <br /> remaining wastes moved by rubber-tired loader to the transfer trucks for landfill disposal. <br /> L:1PR0JECr/397/NRF/RS1-1.TCY <br /> Revision 1.0 2 December 15, 1993 <br />
