Load Checking Program <br /> Tracy Material Recovery&Transfer Facility <br /> 30703 S. MacArthur Drive,Tracy,CA 95377 <br /> Whenever the responsible party for the PW is not identifiable, the waste is pulled aside <br /> and stored in the hazardous waste storage area. The load check staff will inspect the <br /> storage facility weekly to ensure the storage facility is meeting the following <br /> requirements. <br /> 11.1. Identification/Categorization <br /> The hazardous waste storage and accumulation areas will be equipped with <br /> containers for the most common hazard classes as needed including poisons <br /> solids, poison liquids, corrosives-acids, corrosives-bases, oxidizers, flammable <br /> liquid, flammable aerosols, latex paint, and other unknowns. <br /> 11.2. Separation <br /> PW found will be separated from incompatible waste by being placed in the <br /> proper container. <br /> 11.3. Labeling <br /> PW containers will be labeled with a yellow EPA hazardous waste label which <br /> includes: <br /> • The accumulation starts date for the waste container (i.e. the date waste was first <br /> placed in the container). This date must be visible for inspection. <br /> • The composition of the waste; <br /> • The physical state of the waste (i.e. gas, solid or liquid); <br /> • The hazardous properties of the waste (i.e. flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic); <br /> • The name of the waste generator; <br /> • The contact phone number of the waste generator; <br /> • The address of the waste generator. <br /> 11.4. Spill Clean-up <br /> Spill kits containing vermiculite, spill pads, a broom, and a shovel will be <br /> stationed in the storage container. <br /> 11.s. Safety Equipment <br /> Secondary containment for each of the containers will be located in the <br /> hazardous waste storage area. The secondary containment will be able to hold <br /> 110% volume of the largest container that placed on/in the containment. <br /> 11.6. Overall Condition <br /> The hazardous waste storage unit will be kept in a clean and orderly condition at <br /> all times. Chemicals will be placed in the proper location and managed to <br /> prevent the spilling or mixing of chemicals. Load Check staff will inspect the <br /> facility at least weekly. <br /> 11.7. Signage <br /> The hazardous waste storage container or area will have an NFPA sign depicting <br /> the highest level of hazard that is likely to be stored at the facility and the NFPA <br /> sign will be displayed on all 4 sides of the storage area. <br /> 16 <br />
