Report of Composting Site Information
Tracy Material Recovery and Transfer Facility
30703 S. MacArthur Drive, Tracy, Ca. 95377
wall sources is used as an additive to assure proper nutrient balance in the end product.
It is added during the composting process, in variable quantities, to satisfy the needs of
agriculture markets and the creation of custom blends.
Produced Materials Definitions
"finished compost" - Green Material or food waste that has undergone the composting
process. Finished compost smells earthy rather than rotten or moldy and is dark and
crumbly.
"overs" — Waste residuals obtained from the screening of finished compost to 1 -inch.
Overs will not pass through the 1" screen.
"product" — Product is screened to 5/16" minus for sale. Following the screening
process, product will be moved directly to a stockpile location for wholesale and retail
sales.
Throughput Tonnages
Whereas each material type may have a maximum tons per day for a specific operation,
typically the Composting Facility will receive an average of 160 TPD (averaged
monthly), for Monday through Friday throughputs, reduced to an average of 132 TPD if
Ask Saturdays are included. Seasonal peak throughputs of up to 200 TPD are anticipated
up to 15 days per year, which translates into a maximum throughput of 42,500 tons per
year. Food waste is anticipated to comprise up to 15% of the co -composted elongated
windrows (15% food waste/85% green waste) and up to 40% of the material composted
in the enclosed, aerated static piles with the remainder being a bulking agent, probably
greenwaste or wood chips. If the amount of food waste composted was reduced,
additional green waste could be composted to fulfill the 132 -ton per day entitlement.
Throughput tonnages are shown in Table 2.
M
