-f
Frank L. Miller, Inc.
18666 E. MELLO AVENUE / RIPON, CALIFORNIA 95366 January 14, 1980
HEALTH DEPARTMENT VECTOR CONTROL INSPECTIONS
This company does not allow routine inspection unless we are
forced to by a stated warrent. We a e not against inspection upon
receipt of a complaint but we completely protest routine inspection.
We don't want the interference or even to open the door for such
interference. We run the best, ranehes in this county and believe
this inspection is a total waste of our money when a limited staff
should have the power to solve the problem of the three or four
stupid operators in this county.
The inspector going from ranch to ranch can do an excellent
job of carrying poultry diseases especially of the respiratory
nature that chickens are prone to catch. Our own ranches vary in
protection as well as viruses from other ranches. We are talking
about Vaccine and Field Strains of Bronchitis, Laryngotracheitis,
Newcastle, A.E., Coryza, Fowl Pox, M.G., and M.S. In our own
operation we have two ranches that are positive for M.G. virus
carriers and four other ranches that are very near to other peoples
ranches that are M.G. and M.S. positive.
We recommend that the inspector only go on one ranch per day
and set up a program of only M.G. and M.S. positive ranches in an
individual week with a gap week after exposure. We also want to
warn of possible liability by the Health District and their employees
if such diseases and/or production drops do happen.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Miller
President
We have read this paper and Frani L. Miller, Inc. has supplied
us with a copy of this paper for our '.Ptle.
Health Inspector Witness
Witness
