But there are manditory standards for the pedestal. It has to be a minimum of 2'wide on both sides
and 4" deep, sloped to drain any water away from well head so that no standing water pools around wellhead. I'm
so glad you asked, I learned something new today!!
Jenni
From: Jennifer Frase [EH]
Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2008 11:06 AM
To: 'patricedhs@yahoo.com'
Cc: Robert McClellon [EH]
Subject: Well head repair
Patrice,
I asked around for a trustworthy contractor for well repair. My Program Coordinator saw the photos and believes
that only the pedestal needs repair(cement pad) and suggests some sort of protective barrier poles be installed
to avoid future damage.
Here is a list of contractors in the county (see attachment), but some don't do repairs. While I am not at liberty to
direct you to any one contractor due to unfair bias, Moorman's Water Systems seems to be one local contractor
that would be able to work with you and your non-profit status at Delta Humane Society. I recommend that you
use the list to shop around for prices and second opinions.
Please keep me updated on progress and contact me if you have any questions. It was a pleasure to work with
you.
Jenni Frase, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 E.
