MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM -2- <br /> CITY OF TRACY <br /> WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> RECEIVING WATER MONITORING <br /> All receiving water samples shall be grab samples. Receiving water samples shall be taken from the <br /> following: <br /> Station Description <br /> R-1 Old River 500 feet upstream from the point of discharge. <br /> R-2 Old River 500 feet downstream from the point of discharge. <br /> R-3 Old River 5 miles downstream from the point of discharge. <br /> Sampling Sampling <br /> Constituents Uni s Station Frequency Frequency_1 <br /> Dissolved Oxygen mg/l R-1. R-2. R-3 Weekly Twice Weekly <br /> pH pH Units R-1. R-2 Weekly Twice Weekly <br /> Turbidity Turbidity Units R-1, R-2 Weekly Twice Weekly <br /> Temperature °F (°C) R-1, R-2 Weekly Twice Weekly <br /> Flow Direction East or West R-1. R-2, R-3 Weekly Twice Weekly <br /> Electrical Conductivity @25'C µmhos/cm R-1, R-2 Weekly Twice Weekly <br /> Ammonia2 (as N) mg/l R-1, R-2 Monthly Weekly <br /> Un-ionized Ammonia as N mg/l R-1, R-2 Monthly Weekly <br /> 1 Sampling frequency requirement for one year after Barrier Projects are completed on Old River <br /> 2 Temperature and pH shall be determined at the time of sample collection for the calculation of Un-ionized <br /> Ammonia <br /> In addition, the flow of Old River shall be measured in cubic feet per second upstream of the <br /> discharge point on a continuous basis. The flow shall be reported as maximum, minimum. and <br /> average daily flows for each day. Daily duration of flows in Old River to the east and periods of <br /> stagnation shall also be reported. <br /> In conducting the receiving water sampling, a log shall be kept of the receiving water conditions <br /> throughout the reach bounded by Stations R-1 and R-2. Attention shall be given to the presence or <br /> absence of: <br /> a. Floating or suspended matter e. Visible films, sheens or coatings <br /> b. Discoloration f. Fungi, slimes, or objectionable growths <br /> c. Bottom deposits g. Potential nuisance conditions <br /> d. Aquatic life <br /> Notes on receiving water conditions shall be summarized in the monitoring report. <br /> THREE SPECIES CHRONIC TOXICITY MONITORING <br /> Chronic toxicity monitoring shall be conducted to determine whether the effluent is contributing <br /> toxicity to Old River. The testing shall be conducted as specified in EPA 600/4-89-001. Chronic <br /> toxicity samples shall be collected at the discharge of the Tracy Wastewater Treatment Plant prior to <br /> its entering Old River. Twenty-four hour composite samples shall be representative of the volume <br /> and quality of the discharge. Time of sample collection shall be recorded. Chronic toxicity <br /> monitoring shall include the following: <br />
