The sludge has
been stockpiled and is dried to an acceptable level.
We want to apply it to one of our 80 acre fields at 4 tons/acre. This field is coming out of
beans and will be planted in sugar beets The nitrogen_ uptake of sugar beets is about 275
pounds per acre. Given the available nitrogen concentration in our September, 1994
preapplication report (based on the average of eight samples), this is an acceptable rate.
The sludge will be applied sometime in April and we seek your approval.
Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can arrange this with our hauler and
spreader.
Thank You
Darrell D.
