OF Tit, CITY OF RACY
Public Works Department
Telephone: (209) 836-4420
520 Tracy Blvd.
IV, Fax: (209) 836-3529
40 Tracy, CA 95376
July 16, 1992
Mr. Joseph Henao
California Regional Water
Quality Control Board
Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Road
Suite A
Sacramento, CA 95827
SUBJECT: SEMIANNUAL SURFACE AND GROUNDWATER MONITORING
REPORTS
Dear Mr. Henao:
I am enclosing here the first semiannual monitoring reports
required of our sludge waste discharge permit for the 1991-
92 season. I am defining the beginning of each year's
application and monitoring cycle as being in July, when
reports are filed for the proceeding season. Previous
monitoring data was submitted with semiannual reports
submitted on January 21, 1992.
Monitoring of surface water, as you know, takes place where
return irrigation water enters the recycling ponds. If this
is not possible, samples are collected from where the ponds
discharge into the San Joaquin River Club's lakes. If there
is no water discharged at either location, then no
monitoring occurs.
There was no water at either location from February, 1992
until April, 1992 and this is why no monitoring data was
collected. There was no water at either location on
November 11, 1991 and samples were collected from the
eastern most pond. This was the original intrepretation of
our waste monitoring requirements but was clarified by the
April sampling.
3
As you can see, none of the Agricultural Water Quality Goals
were exceeded except for Total Dissolved Solids. These,
however, are naturally high in the groundwater, as evidenced
by the monitoring of DW #1, the domestic well.
