I
RECEIVED
August 27, 1992 9FP 0 1 if"
California Regional Water Quality Control Board ENVIRONMWAL HEALTH
Central Valley Reqion KOW /44*14-p
3443 Routier koad-
Sacramento, California 95827
Attention: Joseph Henau
Subject: 1991 Sludge Application Annual Report
City of Tracy Waste Discharge Requirements specify that an
annual sludge application report be submitted. I am
submitting here the required report, including the pre -
application report, a post -application report and all of the
soil, sludge and application monitoring data required.
As you can see, none of the monitoring criteria established
for the project have been exceeded. We applied more
nitrogen to Field # 19, planted in almonds, than we had
anticipated. This was a result of the desire of the farmer
and his fertilization consultant to apply at levels normally
applied, or at 200-300 pounds per acre. These are
acceptable agronomic levels.
Application in 1992 is planned again for late September or
October. I will be able to submit a pre -application report
two weeks before application as soon as the farmer decides
on fields and crops.
Please let me know if you have any concerns or need any
additional information about the project. This has been a
successful project so far with the farmer seeing record lima
bean crops after the first year's application and a record
yield on almonds after the 1991 application. None of the
established environmental protection criteria have been
exceeded.
Sincerely,
Darrell D.
