Technical Memorandum -5- March 31, 1992
Based upon cumulative metals loading, the projected future capacity of the 303 acre site is
estimated at approximately 35 years. Copper is the controlling parameter that determined the
useful capacity of the site. The calculation used the metals concentrations in Table 2 and was
based on sludge production equivalent to 6.95 mgd and effluent flow of 2.24 mgd.
SCREENINGS AND GRIT DISPOSAL
The 1990 annual screenings and grit procuction are estimated at approximately 120 cubic
yards and 150 cubic yards, respectively. The screenings and grit are disposed at the Foothill
Landfill, a class III facility located about 35 miles from the WQCF.
SLUDGE MONITORING PROGRAM
In compliance with the Sludge Management Specifications of the Waste Discharge
Requirements, the City of Manteca's sludge monitoring program is presented in Table 10.
The summary of the sludge monitoring program will be included in the annual report to be
submitted to the Regional Board by 30 January of each year.
