Your
proposed rate of biosolids application is approved for fields No. 1,2, and 9E.
Manteca's Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 91-110(WDRs)Effluent Limitation B.2
states the following:
B.2 The Discharger shall maximize disposal of effluent to land at agronomic rates at all
times.
The primary source for providing nitrogen to the crops in Manteca's fields should come from
effluent. If additional nitrogen is needed during the growing season then it can be made up
through biosolids application. If Manteca's WQCF discharges treated effluent to the river rather
than to land because nitrogen requirements of the crops are being met from the biosolids, then this
would be a violation of Effluent Limitation B.2.
If you require any additional information, please contact me at(916)255-3030.
t,-,4d
MICHAEL H.
