3.3.2 Equipment Maintenance
Describes the equipment preventative maintenance program.
Besides the daily maintenance (checking belts and fans, engines, hydraulic oil, fuel,
blowing down dust, etc.), the landfill and RRF have a preventive maintenance program
that is scheduled on all heavy equipment that is based on the number of hours the
equipment has been in service (250 hours, 500 hours, 750 hours, etc.).
3.3.3 Standby Equipment
Describe available standby equipment that will assure ongoing compliance with the State
Minimum Standards [14 CCR 28220(e)]. If standby equipment is not available onsite,
provide an up-to-date list of firms who can supply replacement units.
Forward continually evaluates the need for additional equipment for the RRF operations. For
situations that require standby, specialized, or additional equipment, Forward will first
utilize available equipment from the landfills operation. If this equipment is not
available, Forward will lease-rent and/or contract the appropriate equipment from
local contractors or suppliers located within an approximate 20-mile radius of the
site. Forward has established contract agreements with the following local
contractors and suppliers:
• Holt Brothers
Charter Way
Stockton
® John Deere
Charter Way
Stockton
• J & M Equipment
Charter Way
Stockton
• Case Power and Equipment
Charter Way
Stockton
3.3.4 Housekeeping
Describe procedures for housekeeping which will minimize accumulations of fuel drums,
parts, inoperable equipment, tires, scrap and similar items and availability of storage
areas that are reasonably screened from outside the facility boundary.
Housekeeping is accomplished by permanent employee duty assignments with daily
inspections to assure compliance. The RRF does not accept, or maintain, fuel
drums or tires. The parts are stored in a trailer on the south side of the RRF
building. All of the equipment at the RRF is needed for RRF operations. All
inoperable equipment is promptly repaired. All scrap metal is salvaged.
