5. Removing the seam and replacing with a strip of new material. <br /> D. In addition, satisfy the following procedures: <br /> 1. Abrade geomembrane surfaces to be repaired(extrusion welds only)no more <br /> than one (1)hour prior to the repair. <br /> 2. Clean and dry all surfaces at the time of repair. <br /> 3. The repair procedures,materials,and techniques must be accepted in advance <br /> of the specific repair by the QA/QC CONSULTANT and the <br /> GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR. <br /> 4. Extend patches or caps at least 6 inches beyond the edge of the defect, and <br /> round all corners of material to be patched and the patches to a radius of at <br /> least 3 inches. <br /> 5. Unless otherwise instructed by the OWNER,cut geomembrane below large <br /> caps to avoid water or gas collection between the sheets. <br /> E. Verification of repair: <br /> I. Number and log each repair. <br /> 2. Non-destructively test each repair using methods specified in Article 3.4 of <br /> this Section. <br /> 3. Destructive tests may be required at the discretion of the QA/QC <br /> CONSULTANT. <br /> 4. Reconstruct repairs until tests indicate passing results. <br /> 3.6 GEOMEMBRANE ACCEPTANCE <br /> A. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR retains all ownership and responsibility <br /> for the geomembrane until acceptance by the OWNER. <br /> B. OWNER will accept geomembrane installation when: <br /> 1. All required documentation from the manufacturer, fabricator, and installer <br /> has been received and accepted. <br /> 2. The installation is finished. <br /> 3. Test reports verifying completion of all field seams and repairs, including <br /> associated testing, is in accord with the Section. <br /> 4.
