I will work on it and except to get it back to you next week.
Kevin
>>> "Garrett T. Backus [EH] " <gbackus@sjcphs.org> 3/21/2007 9:46 AM >>>
Hello Kevin,
I have reviewed the tomato waste "Application for Disposal Site Exemption" for 9999 S
Austin Road and have the following comments:
1) Form CIWMB E-1-77, revised 8/04, is required to process this application. A PDF copy
of this form is attached to this email. Fill out this form and send it to the
Environmental Health Dept. The type of application is "Exemption and/or Waiver. "
2) The site location map does not indicate wells within 1000 feet of the disposal area.
Include all wells on the site map including gas monitoring, gas extraction and water
wells.
3) The disposal area appears to be two different parcels, one owned by Forward Inc. and
the second owned by Brocchini farms. Has Forward obtained the Brocchini parcel and
completed a lot line adjustment?
4) The Waste Types do not include cannery rinsate water which was disposed of at the site
last year. Will rinsate water waste be disposed of at the site? If it will then include
rinsate water as a waste type.
5) The Work Plan states that the waste will be spread using a springtooth cultivator.
County ordinance requires a "Spread and Disc"
operation to use a disc to incorporate the waste into the soil within 24 hours. Will a
disc be used at the site? Include the disc operation in the work plan.
6) Include a statement in the Work Plan that says that the cannery waste will be kept 50
feet away from all wells and the creek.
Sincerely,
Garrett Backus, REHS
1
