Hazelton Ave. , P O Box 2000 M�N'(P�eCiS <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> 468-3446 <br /> RE: DISPOSAL SITE EXEMPTION PERMIT for disposal of food processing and <br /> and packing wastes to land and DISPOSAL SITE PERMITS FOR ANIMAL FEED <br /> YARDS <br /> DISPOSAL SITE EXEMPTION PERMITS <br /> The disposal of food processing waste and food packing waste to land may only <br /> be permitted following a public hearing before the San Joaquin County Solid <br /> Waste Hearing Panel. This hearing is to determine that this disposal site can <br /> be exempt from a Solid Waste Facility permit based on the following findings. <br /> Title 14 , Sec 18215, California Code of Regulation) <br /> 1. The exemption is not against the public interest. <br /> 2. The quantity of solid waste is insignificant. <br /> 3. The nature of the solid waste poses no significant threat to health, 1° <br /> safety , or the environment. <br /> An annual application fee of $140.00 must be remitted with each completed <br /> application for each site. <br /> The time and date of the required hearing will be mailed through the San <br /> Joaquin County Department of Public Works who is the secretary to this hear- <br /> ing panel . <br /> DISPOSAL SITE PERMITS FOR ANIMAL FEED YARDS <br /> Animal Feed Yards are those facilities which feed three or more animals, other <br /> than hogs, of swill , offal , food processing waste vegetable and fruit packing <br /> waste or garbage not produced on the premise or site and which meets the land <br /> use requirements. (SJ Co Ord Code Sec 5-2101(a) ) <br /> "Animal Feeding Yards" are required, in addition to meeting land use require- <br /> ments, to possess a valid "Disposal Area Permit" , obtainable through the San <br /> Joaquin Local Health District . (SJ Co Ord Code Sec 5-2101(g) , 5-2600 & 5-2608) <br /> Hog Farms are exempt from a "Disposal Area Permit" providing the feeding <br /> operation is conducted entirely pursuant to and in conformity with a permit <br /> issued by the State Department of Agriculture. <br /> An annual application fee of $140.00 must be remitted with each completed <br /> application for each site.
