L.clayt°ri
Ms. Margaret Lagorio Page 2:E
San Joaquin County EHD Clayton Project No. 70-05669.00
April 27, 2005
subject parcel is located west of West Lane and north of Klinger Road in Stockton,
California. Construction activity is scheduled for the northern portion of the subject
parcel, and the planned investigation is designed to evaluate whether the subsurface has
been impacted.
SCOPE OF WORK
Clayton has developed an approach to perform subsurface investigative activities to
evaluate potential impacts to the subsurface. The approach is detailed in the following
sections.
PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES
The purpose of the pre-field activities is to appropriately plan the work and to ensure that
onsite personnel are prepared for potential safety hazards at the property. The pre-field
activities will include the following:
• Preparing a Site Health and Safety Plan (HASP)to reflect the work proposed at the
subject property. The HASP will describe the work to be performed, safety
precautions, emergency response procedures, nearest hospital information, and onsite
personnel responsible for managing emergency situations. A copy of the HASP is
provided as Attachment A.
• Marking the site boundaries and proposed investigation areas with white paint and
notifying Underground Service Alert(USA) at least 48 hours prior to performing
field activities.
• Utilizing a private utility locating service prior to conducting the field activities for
clearing proposed investigation locations relative to the presence of subsurface
utilities.
• Obtaining drilling permits from San Joaquin County.
FIELD ACTIVITIES
Field activities for this project will consist of drilling eight exploratory soil borings to
investigate subsurface conditions. One soil boring will extend to a maximum of 30 feet,
and the remaining borings will extend to maximum of five feet. The soil borings will be
spatially positioned to assess the areas of proposed construction, as outlined below:
S'.\ES\PRWECTS\Verim Wirelco@005\05669 Asilc Phue II\workplan.doc
