The purpose <br /> of which is removing and disposing of the colntarhinAted. soil in the afore- <br /> mentioned area. The excavation will begin at the point marked W (inset) <br /> on Figure 4A extending towards and past the point marked E, a total distance <br /> of 20 feet and from point S toward and past point H, a total distance of 15 <br /> feet. The depth shall be 15 feet or to groundwater level at low tide, <br /> whichever is applicable. See attached Drawing Figures 4# and 5)t. <br /> Estimated amount of soil to be removed is approximately 167 cubic yards. <br /> All spoils removed will be placed on plastic sheeting and disposed of <br /> after an assPsscient of the extent of contamination is made. <br /> Approximately 11 soil samples will be taken. Two samples from each sidewall <br /> and three bottom samples. Sidewall samples will start two feet up from the <br /> bottom and again five feet higher. Bottom samples will be evenly spaced <br /> along the length of the excavation. See attached Drawing Figures 4B and <br /> 5B. <br /> Samples will be taken from the backhoe bucket at the direction of the <br /> Environmental Health Department representative. Samples will be taken by <br /> Wm. Hunter and Assoc., Registered Geologists. Samples will be analyzed by <br /> an approved laboratory for BTEX and TPHD to current Tri-Regional'.Board <br /> Recommendations for detection limits. All work related to this project <br /> will be under the direction of Wm.
