' 26 January 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 01-0839
intervals:
' • Between 93 feet and 95 feet bsg; and
' • Between 112 feet and 115 feet bsg.
' One soil sample was collected in boring CPT-2 from a specified zone based on the acquired CPT
lithologic data.A steel-tipped piston soil sampling assembly was pushed into the zone, then the tip
was withdrawn to expose a core barrel;the soil sampler was pushed down again to retrieve a 1-foot
soil sample. Upon soil sample retrieval, a brass sleeve was removed from the sampler. The ends of
the brass sleeve were immediately covered with Teflon sheets, sealed with plastic end caps, and
secured with tape. The soil sample was collected between 74 feet and 75 feet bsg.
' Following collection, the grab ground water samples and soil sample were placed in a chilled
container and transported under chain of custody procedures to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories
(CTEL), a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory in
Paramount, California. The samples were analyzed for:
' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M; and
1 • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), and fuel additives di-isopropyl
ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary-butyl alcohol(TBA), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB),
' and 1,2 dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260B.
' The twinned soil borings were backfilled over their entire depths with a portland cement grout mix.
' 3.0. SVE WELL INSTALLATIONS
On 12, 13, and 15 December 2006, three shallow-screened SVE wells and three deeper-screened
' SVE wells were installed on-site for use in SVE pilot tests.
3.1. DRILLING AND SAMPLING
Vapor extraction well pilot soil borings VWl, VW3, and VW6 were installed at the site to a total
' depth of 60 feet bsg and pilot borings V W2,V W4,and V W5 were installed to a total depth of 30 feet
bsg utilizing a CME-75 HT truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch diameter hollow-stem
' Advanced GeoEoviroomental,Inc.
