' 26 January 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 01-0839
7.0. SUMMARY
The implications from the November and December 2006 CPT borings, well installations, and SVE
' pilot tests are as follows:
• On 22 November 2006,two paired soil borings(CPT-1 and CPT-2)were advanced at the site
' for cone penetrometer testing. Sounding CPT-1 was advanced to 100 feet bsg and sounding
CPT-2 was advanced to a depth of 150 feet bsg.A grab ground water sample was collected
from the CPT-1 boring location between 88 feet and 85 feet bsg;ground water samples were
' collected from the CPT-2 boring location between 75 feet and 72 feet bsg, between 95 feet
and 93 feet bsg, and between 115 feet and 112 feet bsg. One soil sample was collected in
boring CPT-2 between 75 feet and 74 feet bsg.No petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were
' detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the grab ground water and soil samples.
• On 12, 13, and 15 December 2006, three shallow-screened SVE wells (VW-2, VW-4, and
' VW-5 screened from 15 feet to 30 feet bsg) and three deeper-screened SVE wells (VW-1,
VW-3,and VW-6 screened from 45 feet to 60 feet bsg)were installed on-site for use in SVE .-r( brW--1
pilot tests. MTBE was detected in soil samples V W l-35, V W l-45, and V W I-60 at t .k"r w
' concentrations of 0.042 mg/kg,0.21 mg/kg,and 0.39 mg/kg,respectively.Ethylbenzene was
detected in soil sample V W6-50 at a concentration of 0.016 mg/kg.
• On 14 December 2006, one shallow ground water monitoring well was installed on the
' property located at 4318 East Pepsi Place, Stockton, California, approximately 250 feet east
of the site.Pilot boring MW5 was completed as ground water monitoring well MW-5 using
' 2-inch diameter, Schedule 40 PVC casing with 0.020-inch slotted screen installed from
60 feet to 80 feet bsg.No constituents of concern were detected in the soil samples analyzed.
• The site stratigraphy appears to be dominated by fine-grained material(silty clay, cla ey silt,
' and silt) from surface grade to the total depth of boring CPT-2 (150 feet bsg). ilty sand,
ran—d
y silt,and sand were encountered in borings V W 1,V W6,and V W3 beginning at 15 feet
and extending to 25 feet or 30 feet bsg;the sand was generally fine-to very fine-grained
poorly graded except for the clean sand encountered at 30 feet bsg in boring VW 1,which
fine-to coarse-grained,well graded,and contained some gravel.Zones of sander silre
tified in boring VWl at 50 feet and 60 feet bsg in boring VW6 at 60 feet bsgand In
ng VW3 at 55 feet bsg. In boring MW5, approximately 250 feet east of thesite, ndy
silt and silty sand were identified at 45 feet and 50 feet bsg, respectively. From 55 feet bsg
to 80 feet bsg, the total depth of the boring, light brown to dark brown, clean sand was
encountered. The sand was fine-to coarse-grained with some gravel and generally saturated
and well graded. This sand layer is identified on the CPT boring logs beginning at
' approximately 65 feet and extending to approximately 73 feet in boring CPT-1 and 79 feet
in boring CPT-2. An additional sandy layer is apparent in the CPT-2 boring log between
approximately 91 feet and 97 feet bsg.
' Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc.
