' 26 January 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 01-0839
The vertical extent of soil contamination is defined in the former UST area. MTBE was detected in
pilot boring VW 1 at its total depth of 60 feet bsg;however,MTBE contamination was not detected
at 70 feet bsg in pilot boring MW3,located slightly southwest of VW 1.Additionally, ethylbenzene
was detected in pilot boring V W6 at a depth of 50 feet bsg,but was not detected in the same boring
at 60 feet bsg(total depth).
MTBE contamination was not detected in soil samples collected from pilot boring V W3, though
MTBE was detected in pilot boring MW4 at 30 feet and 40 feet bsg in July 2003.
' 9.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
' Due to the elevated concentrations of contaminants detected in soil vapor samples collected and
analyzed during the shallow well SVE pilot test, particularly MTBE, AGE recommends installing
and utilizing a SVE system for interim remediation utilizing the shallow-screened vapor wells.AGE
Irecommends preparing anInterim Remedial Action Work Plan to outline the specifics ofthe system.
' 10.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
' environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
' conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available datapoints(i.e.,soil,soil vapor, and ground water samples)and subsurface conditions may
vary away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the
professional interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report.
' Advanced GeoEnvironmentel,Inc.
