Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc . <br /> 07 August 2006 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 01-0839 fNV v 142006 <br /> Ms. Lori Duncan p 9M r/S RVQ fq /Y <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, 3`d Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Subject: Additional Site Assessment and Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test <br /> Work Plan Addendum <br /> ERNIE'S GENERAL STORE <br /> 4407 East Waterloo Road, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms. Duncan: <br /> As per your request in your letter dated 14 July 2006 (Appendix A),Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc.(AGE)has prepared this Additional Site Assessment and Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test Work <br /> Plan Addendum for the site located at 4407 East Waterloo Road,Stockton,California.The originally <br /> proposed scope of work included advancement of one soil boring utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow <br /> stem augers, installation of one additional ground water monitoring well and five soil vapor <br /> extraction(SVE)wells, and performance of two separate SVE pilot tests. AGE would like to make <br /> the following amendments: <br /> • Change the installation method of the boring proposed north of the estimated extent of the <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon plume from hollow stem augers to a cone penetration test (CPT) <br /> boring; <br /> • Add an additional CPT boring near monitoring well MW-4 in the area of greatest <br /> hydrocarbon impact to ground water to a total depth of approximately 150 feet below surface <br /> grade (bsg); and <br /> • Add one deep SVE well near monitoring well MW-4. <br /> CPT DRILLING AND SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> AGE proposes to advance two paired CPT soil borings (CPT-I and CPT-2) at the site utilizing a <br /> 25-ton, truck-mounted CPT drill rig. The drill rig is equipped with a hydraulic ram and <br /> 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods to advance the soil borings. Proposed CPT soil boring locations <br /> are illustrated on Figure 2.
