' 28 December 2004
i AGE-NC Project No 01-0839
' The fuel additive 1,2-DCA was detected in the water samples collected from wells MW-3 and MW-4
at concentrations of 12 µg/1 and 3 3 µg/1, respectively
' TAME was detected in the water sample collected from well MW-3 at a concentration of 3 6 99/1
No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the ground water samples
' analyzed The laboratory analytical results are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report(CTEL
Project No CT214-0409006), quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) report, and chain of
custody form are included in Appendix C Documents confirming the upload of laboratory electronic
' deliverable format (EDF) files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are included in
Appendix D
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
• Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 40 77 feet to 41 01 feet below MSL,
' . indicating a decrease in ground water elevation from the previous quarter The inferred
ground water flow direction was northwest at a gradient of approximately 0 004 f1/ft
I0 TPH-g was detected in wells MW-3 and MW-4
• MTBE and 1,2-DCA were detected for the fifth consecutive quarter
' 0 BTEX compounds were not detected in any of the ground water samples analyzed, indicating,
the detections of TPH-g are sole and isolated peaks on the sample chromatography
correlating only to MTBE
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends
• Continuation of the quarterly ground water monitoring program
• Preparation of a work plan to characterize the extent of soil contamination beneath the
existing/former UST location
• Preparation of a work plan to characterize the extent of ground water contamination down
' gradient of the existing/former UST location and MW-4
•
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
