4 `
14 October 2004
i AGE-NC Project No 01-0839
The fuel additive 1,2-DCA was detected in the water sample collected from well MW-4 at a
concentration of 4 1 µg11
TAME was detected in the water sample collected from well MW-3 at a concentration of 4 7 µg/l
No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the ground water samples
analyzed The laboratory analytical results are summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report(CTEL
Project No CT214-0405116), quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) report, and chain of
custody form are included in Appendix C Documents confirming the upload of laboratory electronic
deliverable format (EDF) files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are included in
Appendix D
4 0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
• Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 35 04 feet to 35 51 feet below MSL,
10 indicating a decrease in ground water elevation from the previous quarter The inferred
ground water flow direction was south to southwest at a gradient of approximately 0 01 ft/ft
and due west at a gradient of approximately 0 003 ft/ft
• TPH-g was detected in wells MW-3 and MW-4
• MTBE and 1,2-DCA were detected for the fourth consecutive quarter
• BTEX compounds were not detected in any of the ground water samples analyzed, indicating
the detections of TPH-g are sole and isolated peaks on the sample chromatography
correlating only to MTBE
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends
• Continuation of the quarterly ground water monitoring program
I • Preparation of a work plan to characterize the extent of soil contamination beneath the
existing/former UST location
Ia Preparation of a work plan to characterize the extent of ground water contamination down
gradient of the existing/former UST location and MW-4
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
