26 October 2001
' AGE-NC Project No 01-0839
No other fuel oxygenated compounds were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits during
the laboratory analysis of the ground water samples Analytical results of ground water samples are
summarized in Table 3 The laboratory report(MAI Lab ID 77641 and 77642)and chain-of-custody
forms are included in Appendix B
5.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon data collected on 04 and 05 September 2001, AGE concludes the following
Generally, brown, dry to saturated, silt and sandy silt were encountered from surface grade
to 90 feet bsg Poorly graded sand was encountered at 20 feet and 25 feet bsg in boring B-1,
and silty sand was encountered at 50 and 55 feet bsg in boring B-3
• Soli underlying the eastern portion of the site, in the area of the former and existing USTs
is impacted by TPH-g,BTEX compounds and MTBE TPH-g and BTEX contamination was
not encountered beyond 80 feet bsg and MTBE contamination was not encountered beyond
50 feet bsg in B-2 The Iateral extent of soil contamination is undefined to the east, west and
south of boring B-1 Impacted soil extends to depths as great as 80 feet bsg (B-2) and may
extend deeper under th former UST pit (B-1)
o Ground water on-site is impacted by TPH-g,BTEX and MTBE in the area of the former and
existing USTs The lateral extent of impacted ground water has not been defined in any
direction
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site,AGE recommends additional assessment of soil and ground
water on the site and installation of a monitoring well network to monitor the concentrations of
dissolved contaminants
7.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/
hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited
number of available data points (i e grab ground water samples and soil samples) and subsurface
Advanced CcoEnvvonmentai,Inc
