IS December 2001
AGE-NC Project No 01-0839
IPage 3 of 8
3 2 DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLING
I AGE proposes to advance one angled soil boring and install four ground water monitoring wells at
g g
the site as part of the site assessment Proposed well locations are illustrated in Figures 2 and 3
Based on soil and ground water contamination detected in the soil and ground water samples
gr ' p
I collected at the site,AGE proposes a soil boring and ground water mozutonng wells in the following
locations
• One soil boring approximately 12 feet south of soil sample D2-3,
• One monitoring well approximately 5 feet northwest of B-2,
Ia One monitoring well approximately 10 feet north of B-3,
• One monitoring well in the planter adjacent to the eastern boundary of the UST area, and
I9 One monitoring well in the planter adjacent to the southern boundary of the UST area
The proposed soil boring will be advanced to 40 feet bsg at an angle of 25 degrees from vertical The
proposed ground water monitoring well borings will be advanced to approximately 85 feet bsg All
borings will be advanced utilizing a truck-mounted, hollow stem drill ng equipped with 8 25-inch
I diameter hollow-stem augers Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at five
feet bsg and extending to the total depth of each boring Total depths of borings may vary according
to site conditions encountered during drilling
ISelected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015 Modified,
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl ether
(MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and
IFuel additives including MTBE,di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), tertiary butanol(TBA), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA)
and ethylene dibromide (EDB) by EPA Method 8260 Modified
Laboratory reports for the soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
