Wells at the site are now screened across three depth intervals These depth intervals include the "lower ' <br /> (C) well casings, screened at depths ranging from approximately 60 to 100 feet below ground surtace <br /> (bgs), the "middle" (B) well casings, screened at depths ranging from approximately 45 to 77 feet bgs <br /> and the "upper" (A) well casings, screened at depths ranging from approximately 23 to 62 feet bgs <br /> These screened intervals accommodate fluctuations in groundwater depth that have ranged from <br /> F approximately 45 to 90 feet bgs since 1993 (SOTA, 1997) Monitor well construction information is <br /> summarized in Table 1 <br /> On April 8 - 10, 2002, Blaes Environmental installed three additional groundwater monitoring wells at <br /> the site These wells included two remedial test wells (ASW-1 and VEW-1/2) and a groundwater <br /> monitoring well (MW-10) (Figure 2) The well construction diagrams for these wells were presented in <br /> the Blaes Environmental Second Quarter 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Program Report Blaes <br /> Environmental installed an additional two groundwater monitor wells (MW-11 and MW-12) on March <br /> 1 <br /> 17 and 18, 2003 These wells are located to the east and west of the site (Figure 2), and were installed at <br /> the request of the SJCEHD to better evaluate the extent of hydrocarbon contamination Monitor wells <br /> MW-11 and MW-12 each include two well casings screened according to the "B" and "C" horizons as <br /> described in Section 2 3 of this report Well construction diagrams for these wells were presented in the <br /> Blaes Environmental First Quarter 2003 Groundwater Monitoring Program Report Cross Sections <br /> generated based on the drilling logs of select groundwater monitoring wells are presented in Figures 3 <br /> and 4 <br /> 2 4 DOMESTIC WELL LOCATED AT FRONTIER MOTEL <br /> During well installation activities on March 17 and 18, 2003, a SJCEHD representative discovered an <br /> unregistered domestic well at the Frontier Motel located adjacent to the U-Haul property at 2639 North <br /> Wilson Way The SJCEHD representative requested Blaes Environmental collect samples from the <br /> motel's domestic well as part of the upcoming groundwater monitoring event The sample was collected <br /> on March 26, 2003 <br /> Laboratory analytical results received on April 14, 2003 indicated concentrations of 1,2-Dichloroethane <br /> (1,2 DCA) were detected at 1 3 parts per billion (ppb) in the sample collected from Frontier Motel's <br /> 4 <br />• <br />
