' RUZrEnvtronmental Management Inc U Haul#709-50 <br /> 002-70950-02 Semi-Annual Report <br /> 12/14/00 <br /> 2 2 Groundwater Sampling,September 2000 <br /> On September 26 and 27, 2000, Blaes Environmental collected 16 groundwater samples from the on-site <br /> monitoring well casing Purging techniques employed during this sampling event were the same as those <br />' during the June 2000 sampling event The purged water was transferred from five-gallon buckets to an <br /> on-site 1,000-gallon polyethylene storage tank Approximately three well volumes of groundwater were <br />' purged from the wells and periodic parameter readings were recorded on the field data sheets included in <br /> Appendix D <br />' .2 2.l- ErQundwaterSam.aLeCqyection —SAptember2M <br />' Following purging, groundwater samples were collected cted from the on-site groundwater wells using new <br /> polyethylene disposable bailers Prior to sample collection, the depth to groundwater was measured to <br /> confirm that the groundwater level had recovered to within 90% of its original level The water level <br /> measurements, sample name, time, and sample containers were recorded on a sample data sheets included <br /> in Appendix D <br /> Groundwater samples collected at the site were contained in appropriate sample containers supplied by <br /> CAS Following collection, the groundwater samples were placed in an iced cooler and transported, <br /> under proper chain-of-custody record, to CAS for analysis <br /> .2.2.2 Groundwater Sa=Ie Ani sr. — egtember 2000 <br /> The groundwater samples were analyzed for TPHg, TPHd, and TPH as oil (TPHo) using the hydrocarbon <br /> scan, EPA Method 8015M, and BTEX, MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME according to EPA <br /> Method 8260 The chain-of-custody document indicates the analysis for each sample collected at the site <br /> 32.3 rou ater Amalytical Results—September 2000 <br /> Laboratory analytical results of the September 2000 groundwater sampling event indicate that <br /> groundwater beneath the site contains hydrocarbons at variable concentrations A summary of analytical <br /> results for the September 2000 sampling event is presented in Table 3 A copy of the corresponding <br /> laboratory analytical report and chain-of-custody documentation is provided in Appendix E <br /> Review of the analytical results by sample group (i a the middle casing and Iower casing) groundwater <br /> samples, indicates that the extent of hydrocarbons at the groundwater surface is defined by wells on the <br /> 12 <br />
