20 May 1998
AGE-NC Project No 95-0130
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this and previous monitoring events, and on AGE's familiarity with the site,
AGE recommends
Installation of the remediation s on regulatory approval of the stem should commence u
• Y P
Remedial Action Work Plan, dated 03 July 1997, submitted to the PHS-EHD for an in-situ
soil vapor extraction/air sparging system within the petroleum hydrocarbon "core area"
• Continued utilization of wells V W-1 C, VW-2A and VW-3 A for chat actenzation of ground
water conditions in the "core area"
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring The next quarterly monitoring and sampling
is scheduled for May 1998
• Installation of at least two additional ground water monitoring wells downgradlent of the
site Furthermore, based on the downgradient location of MW-3 relative to the existing and
former UST areas, an additional well should be installed adjacent to MW-3 to monitor
dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons at the top of the saturated zone (the top of the screened
lie interval is approximately 15 feet submerged in ground water)
• Completion of any additional monitoring wells installed at the site with multiple screened
intervals to allow for the extreme fluctuation of ground water elevation in the area
G.O. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
I environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory and a well casing elevation survey
performed by an independent sub contractor Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation were made from a limited number of available data
points(I a monitoring well ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary away from
these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained in this report
I
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
