' 30 August 2001
AGE-NC Project No 95-0130
I the vertical extent Is not known in any area(Figures 4 and 5)
• The greatest concentrations of dissolved TPH-g and BTEX were detected in samples
collected from wells VW-1, VW-2 and VW-3 located near the northern-most former UST
pit which is consistent with previous monitoring event results The greatest concentration of
dissolved MTBE was detected in samples collected from well VW-3 (Figure 4) located near
the southern-most former UST pit(Figure 5)and VW-2 located north of the former dispenser
Iisland area which suggests possibly at least two separate releases
50. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the results of the second quarter 2001 Investigation, AGE recommends
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring, the next quarterly ground water monitoring
event is tentatively scheduled for September 2001
• Continued utilization of wells VW-1B,VW-1C, VW-2A, VW-213, VW-3A and VW-3B for
I• characterization of ground water conditions in the "core area"
• Installation of additional shallow and deep-screened ground water monitoring wells at the
I site, the screen intervals for the deep-screened monitoring wells will be placed to define and
monitor the vertical extent of the ground water plume
• Performance of a ground water aquifer pumping test to predict general aquifer characteristics
I at the site in order to design an appropriate interim ground water pump and treat remediation
system
I • Install and continuously operate a ground water extraction system (interim remediation) in
the area of VW-1, VW-2 and VW-3 to inhibit further off-site migration of the fuel-impacted
ground water plume
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
I environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an Independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this Investigation are made from a limited number
Iof available data points (ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary away from
. these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained in this report
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
