14 May 2001
• AGE-NC Project No 95-0130
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the results of the first quarter 2001 investigation, AGE recommends
' • Continued quarterly ground water monitoring, the next quarterly ground water monitoring
event is tentatively scheduled for May 2001
I • Continued utilization of wells VW-1B, VW-1 C, VW-2A, VW-2B, VW-3A and VW-3B for
characterization of ground water conditions in the "core area"
• Conduct concurrent ground water monitoring events with the Former Wells Fargo building
(49 South Wilson Way) and the Roek property located at 102 South Wilson Way
• Preparation of a work plan for advancement of two exploratory soil borings in the area of
VW-1, VW-2 and VW-3 to depths of approximately 150 feet bsg for vertical assessment of
soil and ground water, the work plan should include installation of deep-screened ground
water monitoring wells(i a multilevel wells)to define and monitor the vertical extent of the
ground water plume
. Preparation of a work plan for a ground water pumping test to obtain general aquifer
characteristics such as hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity, storativity, ground water draw-
down and to estimate a zone of capture (radius of influence)
• Preparation of a interim remediation work plan to install and continuously operate a soil and
ground water extraction system in the area of VW-1, VW-2 and VW-3 to inhibit further
vertical and off-site (lateral) migration of the fuel impacted-soil and ground water plume
I
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
' environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number
' of available data points (ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary away from
these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained in this report
•
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
