Interim Remediation Work Plan - May 2003 <br /> • TOP FILLING STATION <br />' 101 South Wilson Way, Stockton, California <br /> I1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Ed Endich,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this work <br /> Iplan for Interim ground water and soil remediation at 101 South Wilson Way, Stockton, California <br /> (site) The scope of work includes installation of an interim ground water `pump-and-treat' ground <br /> water remediation system and an interim soil vapor extraction(SVE)remediation system at the site <br /> The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> In a letter dated 23 December 2002,AGE recommended to the San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department (SJCEHD) that an interim ground water remediation work plan be prepared <br /> (i a pump-and-treat)to halt further down-gradient migration of the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> I plume On 29 April 2003, the SJCEHD verbally approved AGE's recommendation in a telephone <br /> conversation and further directed AGE to prepare a work plan for installation of(1)interim ground <br /> water remediation utilizing a `pump-and-treat' technology in the area of the highest methyl tertiary <br /> butyl ether(MTBE)contamination,and(2)interim soil remediation utilizing an SVE technology in <br /> the area of the highest petroleum hydrocarbon-Impacted soil <br /> lie The purpose of this work plan is to (1) detail the design, installation and operation of a catalytic <br /> oxidizer soil vapor extraction(SVE) system and (2) detail the design, Installation and operation of <br /> a ground water`pump-and-treat' system utilizing granulated activated charcoal(GAC)and MTBE- <br /> hydroscopic synthesized filter media(Sunsolve©) <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The Top Filling Station site is located in an area of low topographic relief at an elevation between <br />' 15 and 20 feet above mean sea level,in the City of Stockton,California(Figure 1) The site is within <br /> the southeast quarter of Section 20, Township 1 North, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and <br /> Meridian (Stockton West Quadrangle, 7 5-Minute USGS Topographic Series, 1968,photo revised <br /> 1987) <br /> 21 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The Top Filling Station site is located at 101 South Wilson Way, on the southwest corner of the <br /> intersection of Wilson Way and Market Street (Figure 2) The site is currently occupied by two <br /> building structures It was a full service gasoline dispensing facility circa 1926 to 1998,but has been <br /> inactive since September 1998 <br /> Advanced CcoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
