• Oxidizer Chamber: The Oxidizer Chamber is constructed of 3/16 inch carbon steel
and lined with a 4 inch ceramic fiber high temperature lining that provides a safe cold
' face temperature while operating at 650'F to 1150'F on the hot face The oxidizer
chamber also has an integral catalytic cell shelf and catalytic cell access door for easy
.maintenance of the catalytic cell.
' * Electric Elements:
A custom made Electric Element Plug is installed in the oxidizer
' chamber. This provides the necessary heat for the pre-heating of the incoming vapors.
The operating range for the elements is 600°F to 1000°F
' * Heat Exchanger: The Heat Exchanger is designed to utilize the catalyst exhaust to
pre-heat the incoming vapors It is designed with tube bundles that the vapors travel
through while the hot exhaust passes around the outside. This is made of a 304
' stainless steel material and a 3/8 inch thick carbon steel front-cover with insulation
material.
' * Control Panel: The Control Panel contains a mann disconnect, on/off switches,
lights, controllers, chart recorder, fuses, motor starters, relays and wiring. The panel is
a NEMA 4 type for outdoor use and is 48 inches tall x 36 inches wide x 12 inches
' deep.
* Valving: The Entrainment Separator comes equipped with two butterfly valves that
are actuated by a drive motor One is a Process Isolation Valve that is provided to
isolate the vapors during start-up, when an alarm occurs or when the oxidizer is not at
temperature The other is a Dilution Valve that continually modulates and maintains
' the catalyst outlet temperature at a pre-set level.
* Auto Drain Pump: A Liquid Pump is provided to remove the water accumulated m
I the entrainment separator The pump is activated when the water reaches the high
liquid level switch and runs for one minute. The pump transfers the water to a
receptacle provided by the client at the ,site.
* Liquid Levet Switches: Liquid Level Switches areP rovided on the entrainment
separator site glass. A High Liquid Level Switch activates the liquid transfer pump
when it is triggered The High/High Liquid Level Switch Alarm 1 turns the entire
system off when the switch is actuated.
* Process Air Pressure Switch: The process line utilizes an Air Pressure Switch to
monitor air pressure in the system. If airflow decreases or stops, the Air Pressure
Switch Alarm 2 will shut down the system.
I * Flow Transmitter:
The Flow Transmitter receives a high and low air pressure signal
from the orifice plate in the process line and trw smits a signal to the chart recorder
The chart recorder records the volumetric flow rate passing through the oxidizer.
I '
