AGE-NC Project No 95-0130 <br />' Page 5 of 6 <br />' • TBA was not detected in any of the analyzed water samples,however, TBA was previously <br /> detected in wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-5, VW-1C, VW-2A, VW-2B and VW-3A, <br /> suggesting a minor TBA-impact to ground water at the site <br />' • EDB has previously been detected from wells MW-7B, VW-1B, VW-1C and VW-2A at <br /> concentrations significantly above the DHS's Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) in <br />' drinking water <br /> • TAME was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-3, <br /> MW-6(B-D), MW-7(B, C), VW-1C, VW-2A and VW-3A at concentrations as high as 95 <br /> µg11 (VW-1C) This is the first time TAME has been detected in ground water samples <br /> collected from the site,with the exception of one detection of TAME in December 2003 and <br /> March 2003 in wells VW-2A and VW-3A, respectivley <br /> • The high concentrations ofpetroleum hydrocarbons detected in samples collected from wells <br /> MW-6(B, C), MW-7(A, B), VW-1C, VW-2A and VW-3A indicated that these wells are <br />' within or near the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon "core area" of the plume (Figures 5 <br /> through S) <br /> • • The lateral and vertical extent of the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon plume is not known <br /> toward the northwest,north,northeast, east and southeast of the area bound by wells MW-1 <br /> through MW-7 (Figures 5 through S) <br /> 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> IBased upon the results of the second quarter 2004 investigation, AGE recommends <br /> • Continued quarterly ground water monitoring of wells VW-1(B, C), VW-2A, VW-3A, <br /> MW-6(A-E) and MW-7(A-E) The third quarter 2004 ground water monitoring event was <br /> I performed on 30 September 2004, and the fourth quarter 2004 ground water monitoring <br /> event was performed on 23 November 2004 Conduct future groundwater monitoring events <br /> concurrently with the Knowles/Roek Property site (102 South Wilson Way) and the Arco <br /> I AM/PM site (130 South Wilson Way), <br /> • In accordance with Interim Remediation Work Plan - May 2003 (dated 21 May 2003), <br /> interim soil vapor extraction(SVE)remediation was initiated at the site on 31 August 2004, <br /> start-up SVE remediation results is forthcoming and will be reported in Quarterly Report- <br /> Thtrd Quarter 2004 <br /> I • In accordance withlnterim Remediation Workplan-May 2003,interim ground water pump- <br /> and-treat (P-T) remediation was initiated at the site on 17 November 2004, start-up P-T <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
