30 March 2005
. AGE-NC Project No 95-0130
• The volume of hydrocarbons extracted by the SVE system was calculated to be
approximately 1,134 gallons (equivalent to 7,088 pounds) of petroleum hydrocarbons
(Appendix H)between the 01 October 2004 and the 22 December 2004 monitoring periods
I (Table 7)
• Since initiation of the SVE system in August 2004, the total volume of petroleum
hydrocarbons extracted is estimated to be approximately 1,707 gallons (Table 7), while the
total mass is estimated at approximately 4,838 kg, or approximately 10,666 pounds of
extracted petroleum hydrocarbons
The results of pump and treat ground water remediation between 17 November 2004 (start-up) and
29 December 2004 are as follows
IApproximately 3 5,3 60 gallons of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water were extracted from
wells EW-1 and EW-2, which were completed in the First Zone aquifer (Table 9)
IDissolved TPH-g was detected from grab samples collected at the influent end of the
treatment system at concentrations between 26,000 µg/1 and 69,000 µg/1, benzene
concentrations between 2,700µg/1 and 11,000 Vg/1 and MTBE concentrations between 7,100
µg/1 and 7,400 µg/1 Laboratory analysis of grab water samples collected from the P&T
effluent did not detect any constituents of concern during the fourth quarter 2004 (Table )
EBetween 17 November 2004 and 29 December 2004, an estimated 14 04 pounds of MTBE
were extracted from ground water(Table 9, Appendix J)
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the results of the Fourth Quarter 2004 investigation, AGE recommends
I • Continued quarterly ground water monitoring of wells VW-1 (B and C), VW-2A, VW-3A,
MW-6(A-E)and MW-7 (A-E) The First Quarter 2005 ground water monitoring event was
performed on 04 March 2005
• Conduct future ground water monitoring events concurrently with the Knowles/Roek
Property site (102 South Wilson Way)and the Arco AM/PM site (130 South Wilson Way),
I • Continued quarterly depth-to-water measurements in all monitoring wells at the site, but
reduced ground water sampling frequency from a quarterly to a semi-annual program, AGE
believes that continued quarterly ground water sampling from wells MW-1 through MW-5
at this stage of the investigation is not cost effective and will not provide enough useful
. information to supplement the ongoing investigation Semi-annual sampling events should
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
