5.2 Hydrocarbon Impacted Groundwater
' Groundwater gradient calculations indicate that MW-3 is the downgradient well The highest
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in MW-3 However, TPH as
gasoline and BTE&X were also detected in the sample from MW-1, up-gradient of the
' former UST excavation. The high concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons in MW-3 may
be due to impacted groundwater detected on the property immediately east of the site
' Impacted groundwater has been detected on the property immediately east of the site,
across Wilson Way Based on our experience, groundwater flow direction has historically
shifted in various directions impacted groundwater from the Top Filling site and the Roek
' site may share an impacted groundwater plume Historical research concerning petroleum
products used at this property and the subject property should be conducted GeoAudit
recommends"fuel fingerprinting"of the groundwater samples collected in the second quarter
' to identify specific petroleum products
To assess impacted groundwater in the western direction, GeoAudit recommends the
' installation of two additional groundwater monitoring wells at the site The wells should be
located northwest of MW-1 and in the southwest portion of the property
' 5.3 Removal of Remaining Underground Storage Tanks
GeoAudit recommends removal of the remaining USTs located on the north side of the gas
station office
1
6.0 LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily
exercised by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings
' were based upon analytical results provided by an independent laboiatory Evaluations of
the geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are
made from a limited number of available data points (i a monitoring wells, soil samples)
I and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points No other warranty,
expressed or implied, is made as to the professional recommendations contained in this
report
f
U.-1681 AW11&moa,Inc
Top RU-g F11FRAaWJ.a 1WJ
I
