John Alaniz [EH]
From: Joe Anderson <joe.anderson@ponder-env.com>
Sent: Thursday, December 13, 2018 5:29 PM
To: Jordan Bottorff
Subject: RE: Waste Removal at Pacific Ethanol
Attachments: Manganese (III) Oxide.pdf, Defoam 300G.pdf, Asphalt Petroleum.pdf
Hi Jordan,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. These waste streams were determined non-haz based on the SDS sheets
either provided by P.E. or obtained online (see attached). Some of the waste was in original containers & had the
product info on the outside. For example, 18 drums of Z2 Catalyst (Manganese (III) Oxide) that were in rusted steel
drums, never opened, still banded together on pallets. I've attached the SDS sheets for your reference.
If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Jae Anderson
Compliance Manager
From: Jordan Bottorff <Ibottorff@pacificethanol.com>
Sent: Thursday, December 6, 2018 4:50 PM
To: Joe Anderson <ioe.anderson@ponder-env.com>
Subject: Waste Removal at Pacific Ethanol
Hey Joe,
Do you remember back in September 2017 when we had a bunch of stuff removed from our boneyard? I had a
hazardous waste inspection and they noted a couple non -hazardous manifests and they were wondering how we came
to the determination it was not hazardous. I informed them either testing or SDS.
However for 3 of them I could not find correspondence with me sending you SDS's or finding SDS's or and lab results. If
you can take a look at the list below and let me know, that would be appreciated.
I need this information in order to come into compliance and within 30 days.
• Non-DOT/Non-Regulated Waste Material (Manganese (III) Oxide (Profile # 070128043-13450)
• Non -Hazardous Waste liquid (defoamer), (Profile # 070137747-13416)
• Non-DOT/Non-Regulated Materails (asphalt petroleum). (Profile 070137747-13415)
On waste tracking number 17-16263-001 and 17-16263-002
Thanks!
Jordan Bottorff
EH&S Manager
Pacific Ethanol, Inc. 1 3028 Navy Dr. Stockton, CAI 95206
Office: 209.851.40771 Mobile: 510.904.7314 1 Fax: 209.235.0376 jcain@pacificethanol.com
