Applied Geotechnology Inc.
6.3 Sediments
6.3.1 Metals
Table 10 presents total metal results for sediment samples collected from
drainage ditches on-site. These samples were taken from the property and
roadside drainage ditches as shown on the Site Kan, Figure 1. Arsenic
concentrations ranged from 1.7 to 8.6 mg/kg (dry weight) in Samples S-4 and
S-1, respectively. Cadmium concentrations ranged from the detection limit
(less than 1) to 2 mg/kg (dry weight) . Chromium concentrations ranged from
76 to 110 mg/kg (dry wt) . Copper concentrations ranged from 70 to 150
mg/kg (dry wt) . Lead concentrations ranged from 39 to 100 mg/kg (dry wt) .
5.3.2 Fuel Hydrocarbons
Fuel hydrocarbons in the C14 to C24 hydrocarbon range were detected in the
sediment sample taken at Location S-1 shown in Figure 1 (see Table 15) .
This fuel hydrocarbon is in the diesel range and probably represents diesel
fuel leaked from vehicles stored on the paved area. The trench where the
S-1 soil samples was collected receives runoff from the paved area.
f"
Irl
l -32-
